New Zealand Junior Swim Championships 2012 – Session One

Wow! What an exciting competition!

Session One – Saturday 18th February 2012 Morning

First race was the 100m Butterfly 12 year boys

Satori Dobbie from QEII leading Bruin Maunder from Greendale until about the last ten metres – came home for a silver medal.

Second race was the 200m Backstroke 12 year boys

Satori Dobbie from QEII led all the way at the Kilbirnie pool in Wellington. We wait for the results of the northern clubs swimming at the Hamilton pool….a gold medal to Satori for 1st in New Zealand.

Third race was the 100m Freestyle 12 year boys made it into 3rd in Wellington and 4th place in New Zealand.

Then came the freestyle relay and Canterbury raced into first place from the Wellington venue, second place overall. Another silver medal for Satori.

End of 1st session – 1 gold, 1 silver and a 4th in individual events. A silver from the relay.

The times resulted in qualifying times for National Age Groups Swim Meet 12-13 years age group in the 100m butterfly, 200m backstroke and the 100m freestyle.

A great morning…
